porta octavius.

Rome, Italy, Europe - the datum of beauty. And yet, with every shot I take, the pictures are overwhelmingly cliché. So, while I struggle to photograph something "original," I'll turn those clichés into greyscale clichés.

Porta Octavius

why is that one cliche? I've never seen anything like that before.

it's amazing to me that such an old ruin has been allowed to exist like that. where is it? what was its former use?

porta octavius now resides in the jewish ghetto of rome - it was a temple front and its entablature was taken and appropriated into one of the buildings in the jewish ghetto (I should take a picture of that as well). I'm not entirely sure if it was converted into some other use (most likely), and if so, what it was... I'll have to get back to you on that. :)
